What is Powerpass?
Powerpass is a public charging solution for electric Škoda customers, enabling them to charge anywhere in our network with a single card and app.
How can I get Powerpass?
Download the Powerpass app to your mobile device from the App Store or Google Play, fill in your personal data, choose your tariff and order an RFID card.
Will the Powerpass app be integrated into the MyŠkoda app? Or do customers need 2 separate apps?
As of this moment, Powerpass is used as a separate app for charging purposes. It was decided that integrating it into MyŠkoda would not be feasible at this time, but this possibility will be reassessed at a later stage.
Is Powerpass also available for a PHEV?
Of course – it can be used for all electrified Škoda cars.
Where can I charge my vehicle?
Powerpass gives you access to a comprehensive charging network. Use the charging map in the app to find the charging stations supported.
The card is contract-based, so there is 1 card per account. Does that mean the app, too, can only be downloaded to one device, or can I use it on more than one phone/tablet?
You can log in to your account from multiple devices.
How and in what form is the Mobility Service Provider (MSP) contract between Elli and customers signed?
There is no physical contract to be signed. Instead, the contract is finalised digitally via customer registration. You are required to accept the Terms of Service as part of the registration process.
What should I do if authentication at a station doesn’t work?
Check your Powerpass application to see whether you have an active subscription and that you have an RFID card paired and set as the default for charging.
If the app doesn't work, use the RFID card to authenticate and charge. If this is a recurring problem, contact customer support using the contact details on the RIFD card or in the app.
What should I do if authentication with my RFID card doesn’t work?
Contact the charging station’s customer support line (you’ll find the details on the charging station).
What should I do if the station doesn’t charge?
If the station is unresponsive or does not supply electricity, contact the customer support line using the details provided at the charging station.
What should I do if I can’t see my charging history?
A completed charging session may not appear immediately. This means it is still being processed between the Charge Point Operator (CPO) and Mobility Service Provider (MSP). Please wait until the next day, and if the most recent charging session still doesn’t appear, contact customer support using the contact details on the RIFD card or in the app.
Can I charge a car other than a Škoda with Powerpass?
Yes, you can. However, if your car is not an electric Škoda, you can only register for the Charge Free tariff for the time being.
Can I get Powerpass even if I don’t own a Škoda electric car myself, but am borrowing or otherwise using one?
Yes, you can, but for the time being you can only register for the Charge Free tariff if you don’t own a Škoda electric vehicle.
Where can I charge my car in public?
With Powerpass, you can charge your car at more than 300,000 charging stations across Europe. All these stations can be found in the Powerpass app.
What features do I get with the Powerpass app?
First and foremost, you can order your Powerpass card through the app. In addition, the app is packed with useful features, such as a search&find function for chargers, remote charging control, and charging history. You may also be offered special deals. With the Powerpass app, you can even track your home charging sessions with a Škoda iV Charger.
What types of charging can I get with Powerpass?
Powerpass provides access to all types of public charging, whether AC and DC, and on top of that you can also use superfast IONITY charging stations.
Which tariffs are offered by Powerpass?
You can choose from three tariffs – Charge Free, Simply Charge, and Charge Faster. More information can be found here.
What does the Charge Free tariff cover?
This is our basic tariff. It lets you charge without any monthly fee. If you travel longer distances, you should consider either the Simply Charge or the Charge Faster tariff, as these offer better pricing for charging.
What does the Simply Charge tariff cover?
This tariff is suitable if you travel longer distances. You pay a monthly fee, but that then gives you lower prices than the Charge Free tariff for AC and DC charging.
What does the Charge Faster tariff cover?
This tariff is suitable if you travel longer distances and want to charge more quickly and cheaply. You pay a monthly fee, but that then gives you lower prices than the Charge Free and Simply Charge tariffs for AC, DC and, especially, IONITY fast charging.
Is the charging cost per kWh lower than the official price?
Prices are set by Elli with a view to offering competitive pricing, especially compared to “ad-hoc” prices.
Does the tariff include any of the actual charging, or is it only a fixed access fee?
The tariff provides you with access to charging stations throughout Europe. The charging itself is not included in the tariff. You pay for the energy charging your car separately, based on actual consumption.
How is the price displayed to customers?
You will be shown the price by the charging point on the map.
How will I be charged?
At the beginning of each new month, you receive an invoice detailing all your charging sessions.
What should I do if I can’t see my invoices?
If you don’t receive an invoice by the 5th day of the month, make sure that noreply@powerpass.notifications.elli.eco is enabled in your mailing list. If it is, and the invoice remains unavailable, contact customer support. The contact details can be found on your RFID card or in the app.
What is the Powerpass payment frequency?
Monthly.
How can I get a Powerpass card?
In the Powerpass app, when choosing a tariff.
How many cards can be registered for 1 vehicle (at VW it is only 1 card per vehicle)? What happens when other members of my family use the car (is it best to keep the card in the car at all times)?
There can only be one card per contract. This means that, if your family wants to use multiple cards, you need to sign the corresponding number of contracts. Although the aggregators don’t allow for multiple cards per contract at the present time, a function will be introduced into the app that allows you to authenticate sessions remotely without using a physical card.
Is the card necessary? Can’t I just use the app for authentication?
Yes, you need the card, as many charging points are not yet able to communicate with the app.
How do I activate my RFID card?
After you receive your card, you need to pair it with your account in your Powerpass app in order to activate it.
Is the card connected to the electric vehicle?
No, it is connected to your user account and stays with you.
How do I get an RFID card?
The card will be posted directly to your home address.
Can the card be blocked to prevent misuse, for example, if I lose it?
If you lose or misplace your RFID card, it can be blocked from the Powerpass application. Under the “My Powerpass Cards” section in the main menu, select the card you want to block. When you select a card, its details are shown, and it can be blocked using “Block card” at the bottom of the page.
How can I get a new card if I lose the original one?
If you lose your RFID card, please contact skoda-auto.support@elli.eco to request a new card.
Can I use my MSP (Mobility Service Provider) card with a wallbox?
Yes, you can.
What should I do if my RFID card won’t pair with the app?
Assuming your RFID card is not already paired with another account, contact customer support. The contact details can be found in the app or on the RFID card.
Is Powerpass available in a business version for companies, like a CCS card?
No, Powerpass is for retail customers only.
How long will it take to receive my card?
5 to 7 working days.
Can I use Powerpass without the card, for example by using NFC technology on my phone? Is that an option while I am waiting for a physical card?
Powerpass does not support NFC technology. Before you charge your vehicle for the first time, you need to pair the physical card so that the app can be used for authentication at the station. Even after that, we recommend that you always keep your RFID card on you.
