AC charging is cheaper and more economical
Charging with alternating current (AC) saves battery power and extends battery life. It takes longer, so it's ideal to connect your car to an AC charger overnight or while you're at work. One of the main advantages of the Škoda iV charger connect models is that, thanks to our app, you are in control of your home charging.
Fast and ultra-fast DC charging is great when you're on the road and need to recharge in less than 30 minutes!
Before you set off on a long journey, charge your battery at home or in another available place. If the range gets shorter as you drive, stop off at a quick charger and briefly recharge the battery to the level needed to reach your destination.

Save twice as much by charging overnight
For optimal battery health and cost savings, charge your electric vehicle overnight using alternating current (AC) during off-peak hours, when electricity tariffs are lower. This helps to extend battery life and reduce overall charging costs. Establishing a consistent overnight charging routine ensures that the vehicle is fully charged each morning, contributes to grid stability, and promotes environmental sustainability. This is not only good for your wallet, but also enhances the long-term sustainability of your electric vehicle ownership experience.

Charge to 80%
To keep your battery healthy, it's recommended that you limit charging to 80% of the battery capacity, regardless of whether you are using an AC charger or a DC quick charger. Charging your battery to its full 100% capacity is generally unnecessary for day-to-day use, so reserve this for when you need extended range, such as on long-distance trips. If you do charge to full capacity, you can minimise the load on the battery by avoiding leaving the car stationary for long periods of time. This practice can help to prolong the overall lifespan and efficiency of your electric vehicle's battery.
