A new-look sporty exterior
The exterior of the new Rapid Spaceback exudes a dynamic elegance and features a new longer rear window design, which gives the car a sportier, stretched look, despite being 18cm shorter than the Rapid model.
The Rapid Spaceback’s dynamic silhouette is marked by clear lines, a long wheelbase (2,602 mm) and a sharp, high tornado line.
The front of the Rapid Spaceback model is based on the Rapid model. The core elements being the prominent grille, the new logo on the rounded front end of the bonnet and the cloverleaf arrangement of the headlights.
The tail end of the car features clear lines and creates a balanced and uncluttered impression. A black diffuser element equally underlines the horizontal orientation as well as the broad tail lights in the brand-typical ‘C’ shape design.
A spacious and attractive interior
As is typical of all ŠKODA models, the interior of the new Rapid Spaceback offers a lot of space. Despite the exterior of the new model measuring 18cm less than the Rapid, passenger space is just as generous as in the car’s ‘big brother’.
The rear of the Rapid Spaceback boasts impressive amounts of legroom (64mm) and headroom (980mm) and the boot space is equally impressive, with a maximum capacity of 415 litres with the rear seats up and 1,380 litres with the rear seats down.
Simply Clever features
The Rapid Spaceback model offers the same ‘simply clever’ features that also feature in the Rapid model, including:

Safety features
The new Rapid Spaceback offers high levels of safety that has come to be expected of ŠKODA. It comes with front, side and head airbags, height-adjustable three-point safety belts with pre-tensioners and height-adjustable head restraints. ABS and ESC systems are also available as standard.
Other active safety features available include, Front fog-lights with cornering functionality (standard on the Elegance trim) and Hill-hold control (DSG models only).
Engines and Equipment
The Rapid Spaceback is available with the three petrol and two diesel engine options. The TSI petrol engines offer a great blend of power and torque combined with low CO2 and impressive fuel economy, whilst the 1.6 TDI CR 90PS GreenTech diesel engine emits just 104g/km of CO2.
A wide range of equipment is also available as standard including – 15” Dakara steel wheels, Manual air conditioning, Electrically adjustable heated door mirrors and ESC (including ABS, MRS, ASR, EDS and HBA).
