The ŠKODA Rapid
The ŠKODA Rapid is the all-new family car that sits between the Fabia and Octavia. It has a hatchback body style with class-leading interior space and is outstanding value for money.
The Rapid offers a generous interior space for up to five occupants and is best-in-class for passenger head and knee room. The boot has a suitcase swallowing 550 litres of storage space - another class-leading figure. Folding the rear seats down increases the volume further to an impressive 1,490 litres.
Safety Features
The Rapid has been built with a proven array of safety features. Whilst you hopefully won’t need them, you can feel comfortable knowing that should you find yourself in an extreme situation, you can rely on the Rapid.
Its long wheelbase, combined with an exceptionally stiff chassis and rigid body structure, form the basis for reassuringly stable handling. ABS anti-lock braking and ESC stability control are standard across the range and functions including a Tyre Pressure Monitor, fog lamps with cornering beam and Hill-hold control for starting on a slope are also available enhancing the safety offering further. Occupants will also be protected in case of a collision by front, side and head airbags, plus height-adjustable three-point safety belts.
Standard and Optional Equipment
The usual ŠKODA trim variants are available on Rapid: Active, Ambition and Elegance. Depending on the trim level, standard features include a new multi-function steering wheel with soft-touch keys, cruise control, Bluetooth, MDI (Multi-Device Interface), air conditioning, trip computer and remote central locking.
A range of comfort and convenience options are also available. One of the most popular is the Storage package (available on Active, Ambition and Elegance), which consists of bag hooks, side storage above the wheel arches and three nets with fastening clips. Other extras include 16-inch or 17-inch alloy wheels, exterior sports mouldings, additional chrome detailing plus a variety of infotainment system upgrades.
Simply clever Features
At every stage of its production, the Rapid’s designers have kept the driver and passengers in mind. The result of this thoughtfulness is “Simply Clever” features throughout the car. All the usual ŠKODA innovations are present, including various storage solutions to safely stow multi-media players, cups and parking tickets, as well as netting on the inner sides of the front seats.
A range of new Simply Clever features are also available including: An ice scraper that slides ingeniously into the inside of the fuel tank filler flap, a removable rubbish bin in the door pocket and a double-sided covering for the boot floor.
