With its intelligent 4×4, the Karoq is ready for every contingency. It is great at driving on unpaved roads and gravel. The all-wheel drive system with electronically controlled multi-plate clutch constantly adapts the torque distribution between the front and rear axles to the current driving conditions.

The Off-Road button switches selected assistance systems to a special off-road setting. Once on, the accelerator responds less sensitively and the ABS anti-lock braking system permits a certain amount of slip in order to create a wedge effect in front of the wheels, which helps to slow down the car. Hill-Descent Assist uses sensitive braking to maintain a constant speed when descending steep slopes.
